Good morning. If the air smells better this morning, it’s a sign the mass production of Valentine flowers is running smoothly. Ditching work for love won’t cost you much, your boss plans to do the same. Tip for singles, a rose wine rampage is due in 48 hours, get yourself a fruit drink while you still can.

USAID, Federal workforce edge closer to the ground

David Ingram/NBC
The best time to sleep with an eye open is on a rainy night, the second best time is now, per what Trump is saying to US workers. The United States Agency for International Development continues is still under scrutiny as Trump moves a “large scale” staff cut to increase the available government budget. The President on Tuesday, signed an executive order that granted his unofficial advisor-elect, Elon Musk, and his Department of Government Efficiency increased power to ‘cut costs’ within the government.
DOGE, the familiar yet distant cousin.
No, not the dog-faced crypto coin you’re hedging your billionaire dreams on. The Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE, is the unofficial unit granted electoral power by the President to oversee the United States's fiscal expenditure and inadvertently cut government costs. Headed by the world's richest man, Elon Musk, the agency in reiteration of its objective has set out to cut down on the United States expenditure, saying that taxpayers' cash was going to gullible causes. The agency in a short time has:
Cut Costs: The agency shut down USAID, cutting down all U.S. Aid to developing countries around the world. Musk in revealed that the agency had done all but failed to monitor $8.2 Billion in humanitarian funds.
Attempted to Downsize The Federal Workforce: The agency has placed over 10,000 workers, as well as the 3000 of the federal workforce under scrutiny, eliminating roles with unneeded functionalities, except roles linked to Public Safety, Immigration enforcement, etc.
Musk speaks up. The billionaire in his interview, granted to the Washington Post. pledged to be maximally transparent as he stood with the President in the Oval Room taking questions. Despite both men looking displeased when questions about the judiciary’s recent barrage of blocks on Trump’s executive orders came up, Trump vowed to abide by court orders but reassured he would appeal the orders to halt the downsizing of the workforce.
Zoom out: Despite Trump openly praising Musk’s resolve with DOGE, questions continue to lurk over the presidency, and its seemingly more than intimate relationship with Musk, a prominent figure in the private economy. -OA.

America holds the golden arches but last quarter turned a sore tooth causing a treat for the fast food chain as McDonald’s sales went down by 1.4% in the United States. The burger company fell short of Wall Street’s expectations after a quarterly earning of $2.83 Billion, against the $6.44 Billion expected. Against the overall ups in global sales, the counter-motion theory is proven; Americans finally decided to eat healthier, the rest of the world? Not so much. Sales outside the United States turned out buoyant, with the Middle East and Japan seeing growth spurts of up to 4.1%. A low point turnout sets the view for 2025, but a successful turn from E.Coli might be the chart breaker; burgers still rock.
